Kolkata & Gangasagar Yatra, Frequently Asked Questions

How do I reach Gangasagar and how long does the tour take?
The 3–5 day tour begins in Kolkata (Kalighat, Victoria Memorial), then drives to the Sagar Island ferry point for an overnight stay. The holy snan at Sagar Sangam and Kapil Muni darshan follow, before returning to Kolkata via Belur Math and Dakshineswar.
When is the best time for the Gangasagar snan?
The main pilgrimage is around Makar Sankranti in mid-January, during the Gangasagar Mela. We also arrange visits at other times of the year, when Sagar Island is far quieter and the ferry crossing is easier.
What does the Kolkata & Gangasagar package include?
Hotel stays, all road and ferry transfers, a guide and darshan assistance at Kapil Muni, Kalighat, Dakshineswar and Belur Math. The itinerary is fully customisable and priced on request.
